What Is the iPEC CPC?

The CPC (Certified Professional Coach) is the flagship credential of iPEC (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching). Founded in 1999, iPEC is one of the larger ICF-accredited coach training schools in the United States, with a distinctive proprietary methodology called Energy Leadership.

Like the CTI CPCC, the iPEC CPC is a training-based credential — you earn it by completing iPEC's comprehensive training program. iPEC's Energy Leadership Index (ELI) assessment tool is integrated throughout the program and is used as a coaching tool with clients.

iPEC CPC Training Program

The iPEC program is delivered across three modules, typically over 6–12 months:

  • Module 1 — Coaching Essentials: Foundational coaching skills and the Energy Leadership framework
  • Module 2 — Advanced Coach Training: Advanced techniques, ELI certification, and specialized coaching applications
  • Module 3 — Business Development: Practice building, marketing, and business fundamentals for coaches

The program includes live in-person weekends (or online intensives), teleclass components, mentor coaching, and supervised practice hours. Upon completion, graduates are awarded the CPC designation and ELI-MP (Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner) certification.

iPEC CPC Cost

  • Full iPEC program: $12,000–$15,000+ (check current pricing directly with iPEC)
  • Payment plans: Available
  • Subsequent ICF application: ~$160–$300 after accumulating coaching hours

iPEC is one of the higher-priced ICF-accredited programs. The price reflects the comprehensiveness of the curriculum and the business development module included.

CPC + ICF: Path to ICF Credentials

iPEC is an ICF Level 1 accredited program. This means:

  • iPEC graduates can apply for the ICF ACC immediately after completing the program (with 100+ coaching hours)
  • Graduates can apply for the ICF PCC after accumulating 500+ coaching hours and additional mentor coaching
  • The CPC alone does not replace ICF credentialing for global corporate recognition — you'll still need to apply to ICF separately

Who Chooses iPEC CPC?

  • Coaches in the US looking for a comprehensive, all-in-one training + business development program
  • Professionals in human resources, talent development, and organizational consulting transitioning to coaching
  • Coaches who want a distinctive methodology (Energy Leadership) as part of their offering
  • Those who value a structured, live training experience with in-person intensives

iPEC has a strong alumni community in the US with active networks, peer support, and graduate resources. Many iPEC graduates go on to earn both their CPC and ICF ACC/PCC.
